Every living being has the same basic wish - to be happy and to avoid suffering. Even newborn babies, animals, and insects have this wish. It has been our main wish since beginningless time and it is with us all the time, even during our sleep. We spend our whole life working hard to fulfil this wish.

Since this world evolved, human beings have spent much time and energy improving external conditions in their search for happiness and a solution to their many problems. What has been the result? Instead of their wishes being fulfilled, human suffering has continued to increase while the experience of happiness and peace is decreasing. This clearly shows that we need to find a true method for gaining pure happiness and freedom from misery.

When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations we tend to regard the situation itself as the problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from the side of the mind. If we were to respond to difficult situations with a positive or peaceful mind they would not be problems for us; indeed we may even come to regard them as challenges or opportunities for growth and development. Problems arise only if we respond to difficulties with a negative state of mind. Therefore, if we want to be free from problems we must learn to control our mind.

In our society we respect our parents and it is our duty to serve and help them, especially when they become older.
But some times, I feel, only serving our parents is not enough to pay off the debt that we owe to them.

They expect more...

In this materialistic world, parents have also changed.

They like that child better who can give them a lot of comforts that money can buy even if he is not serving them a single minute.
And, in comparison, the childr who is near and serving them, not just physicaly but mentally too isnt liked that much if he cant provide the material comforts.

It looks like that in today's world all relations are changed, even parents.

Is success so important that it has changed all; even relationships??
(and success here is in terms of money)

Why do parents only like their sucessful child???

Why is this world able to change parents who are God for the children?

Is god also changed and likes only sucessful people??

Some times I feel that being innocent is a sin.
Innocent persons are those who dont think much about what is going in another's mind. They simply do what ever they like and they dont want to hurt any one.
They dont know how selfish this world is and how this world is always ready to exploit them? Knowing all, they dont want to change their style.
They believe in the almighty God who is watching every thing,and believe that he will punish those who lie and cheat.

Is God really watching us and will he punish the wrongdoers in this lifetime or in the their next birth??

Because this belief is the only thing that is keeping the world moving.

I also trust in God but sometimes I think that only believing and waiting for god is not right.

Then what is a simple and innocent person to do??

Should he also do the same as others or should he maintain status quo??

Ingredients
For cover:
1 cup plain flour (maida)
2 tbsp. warm oil
water to knead dough
For filling:
2 potatoes large boiled, peeled, mashed
1 onion finely chopped

2 green chillies crushed
1/2 tsp. ginger crushed
1/2 tsp. garlic crushed
1 tbsp. coriander finely chopped
1/2 lemon juice extracted
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. garam masala
1/2 tsp. coriander seeds cru shed
1 tsp. red chilli powder
salt to taste
oil to deep fry
Method
For dough:
Make well in the flour.
Add oil, salt and little water.Mix well till crumbly.
Add more water little by little, kneading into soft pliable dough.
Cover with moist cloth, keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
Beat dough on worksurface and knead again. Re-cover.
For filling:
Heat 3 tbsp. oil, add ginger, green chilli, garlic, coriander seeds.
Stir fry for a minute, add onion, saute till light brown.
Add coriander, lemon, turmeric, salt, red chilli, garam masala.
Stir fry for 2 minutes, add potatoes. Stir further 2 minutes.
Cool. Keep aside.
To proceed:
Make a thin 5" diam. round with some dough.
Cut into two halves. Run a moist finger along diameter.
Join and press together to make a cone.
Place a tbsp. of filling in the cone and seal third side as above.
Make five to six. Put in hot oil, deep fry on low to medium till light brown.
Do not fry on high, or the samosas will turn out oily and soggy.
Drain on rack or kitchen paper.
Serve hot with green and tamarind chutneys (refer chutneys), or tomato sauce.
Making time: 45 minutes
Makes: 20 pieces (approx.)
Shelflife: Bestfresh

Subedar Lehna Singh and Subedar Imamdin were in the same regiment in the British Indian Army. They were inseparable friends and spent their evenings drinking together. The partition separated them as Subedar Imamdin was absorbed in the Pakistan Army.To keep his friend's memory alive Subedar Singh always filled two glasses with rum and water and sipped from each alternately! Can we imagine a world with no boundary, no frontiers, no region.
All people will be equal ,every one having same facilities, same opportunities, same perks, and same supports.
and all living together with no differences of poor and rich,no castetism, no rulers and no subordinates.

in my opinion his type of world is not possible because we are humans having different thoughts,different imaginations,
different expectations,different ambitions and different capabilities.
so if equal world will exist and there will be loss of creativity , ideas, enterprenuership, ability to take risks

The ancient origin of the Kumbha Mela is described in the time-honored Vedic literatures of India as having evolved from the bygone days of the universe when the demigods and the demons conjointly produced the nectar of immortality. It is said that the demigods and the demons assembled on the shore of the milk ocean that lies in the celestial region of the cosmos. The demigods and the demons made a plan to churn the milk ocean to produce the nectar of immortality. They then agreed to share the nectar equally once it was produced.
For the task of churning the milk ocean, the Mandara Mountain was used as the churning rod, and Vasuki, the king of serpents, became the rope for churning. As the churning began, the Mandara Mountain began to sink deep into the ocean, at which time Vishnu incarnated as a great tortoise and supported the mountain on His back. With the demigods at Vasuki’s tail and the demons at his head, they churned the milk ocean for one thousand years.
The churning of the milk ocean first produced a deadly poison which Shiva drank without being affected. As Shiva drank the poison, a few drops fell from his hands and were licked up by scorpions, snakes, and similar other deadly creatures. After Shiva drank the poison, numerous opulent items were produced. First a surabhi cow appeared, who could yield unlimited quantities of milk. A white horse named Uccaihsrava was then produced, as well as a white elephant named Airavata. Then a valuable gem called the Kaustubha-mani appeared
Next came the apsaras, beautiful dancing girls, and a host of other wonderful things appeared from the milk ocean. At last a male person named Dhanvantari appeared carrying the pot of immortal nectar in His hands. Seeing Dhanvantari with the pot of nectar, both the demigods and demons became anxious. The demigods, being fearful of what would happen if the demons drank their share of the nectar of immortality, forcibly seized the pot.
Wherever the demigods went with the pot of nectar, fierce fighting ensued. In an endeavor to keep the nectar from falling into the hands of the demons, the demigods hid it in four places on the earth, Prayag (Allahabad), Hardwar, Ujjain, and Nasik. At each of the hiding places, a drop of immortal nectar spilled from the pot and landed on the earth. These four places are since believed to have acquired mystical power.
Eventually, the demons overpowered the demigods and took possession of the nectar of immortality. To rescue the demigods from the hands of fate, Vishnu incarnated as a beautiful woman, Mohini-murti, and approached the demons. When the demons saw the charming beauty of Mohini-murti, they lost all composure. Seeing Her slender hips, raised breasts, and pleasing smile, the demons completely forgot about drinking the nectar of immortality. While the demons were thus bewildered by Her beauty, Mohini-murti seized the nectar and returned it to the demigods, who drank it immediately.

Diwali is celebrated for five consecutive days at the end of Hindu month of Ashwayuja. It usually occurs in October/November, and is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited festivals in India. Diwali comes exactly twenty days after Dussehra. Hindus and Sikhs alike regard it as a celebration of life and use the occasion to strengthen family and social relationships. For Hindus it is one of the most important festivals, and beginning of the year in some Hindu calendars. There are several beliefs regarding the origin of the holiday. The most repeated version is that Hindus celebrate Diwali to mark the time when Lord Rama achieved victory over Ravana. Some also view it as the day Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura or in honor of the day Bali went to rule the nether-world, obeying the order of Vishnu. It is also a significant festival for the Sikh faith. In India, Diwali is now considered to be more of a national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most Indians regardless of faith.

An Expierirnce..

Recently i got an opportunity to work as a trainee with a company which is catering his services for aircraft transportation. It was great working with them they were receptive and made various contribution in my learning. During that period i got attached with the recruitment of Air hostesses. it went for almost three days. Within that span of time i made a very interesting observation which i would like to share.

the candidates were been divided into categories of Schedule caste, Schedule tribes, Other backward class and general. On the very first, the SCs were been called for the interview and the marks obtained by them was not very appreciating but then for me it was okay...as marks make no difference for me, next day the STs and the OBCs were been called and the same thing happened regarding marks. the difference came up on the third day when the general candidates came for the interview, the marks scored by them were really good i should appreciate that. being a curious person i asked my senior about the cause and the response was actually beyond my expectations. he told me that since the SCs,STs and OBCs get relaxation of marks so they are never been given more than 55 marks so that they cannot absorb the general candidates seats and this also fills up the reserved seats of them. this meant that the SC, ST and OBC candidates ar taken just to fill up the seats as been instructed by the government. and u all will be amazed that my boss called it one of the rules of recruitment. (by now u all might have known that it is a public sector)

we have a reservation policy in our country which have been constructed for the suppressed deprived and marginalized people so that they can be brought to the mainstream of the society. also it aims to kill the social injustice and discrimination related to them. But it very necessary to know that how far have we been successful in this? do we have really met the goals of the policy or it is just been used as a tool by the political parties to earn votes during elections.

We are definitely giving reservation to them but have definitely failed to except them. they are still been sybolised and labelled as reserved category students or officer in colleges and offices. and it is sad to say that after 50 years also we are there only from where we had started except some achievements which also need to to be looked upon.

Through this blog i wanted to convey that, we need to change our approach and outlook. We are living in 21st century and very proudly call ourselves as modernized people, but modernization is not only wearing costly and branded clothes but also to become sensitive about the issues of our society and make strategic programmes so that we can togatherly bring a change in the society. So will u all help me in constructing and giving a new approach to the reservation policy???

Preparation of Civil Services

In India, a government job is supposed to be the best, and they are actually the best because they have a very long history of royalty.

Thats why, one fine day, I started preparing for civil services. One of the reaosns was teh fact that my family belongs to this elite group of civil servants.

They were my inspiration and motivation to choose this career afterhaving a good engineering degree.

But what I did not know was that preparing for Civil Services is a really hectic job and it requires a lot of patience. Before starting my preparation, whenever I saw a guy who had been preparing for this exam for 3 - 4 years, I thought that there is a guy guy who doesnt know any thing and is just waisting his time and money.

But, now, after starting my preparations for this exam, I can not only understand their situation but I,myself, am in that situtaion. I have, like them, spend/wasted my time and money too.

The Civil Service Exam is that kind of exam which needs every thing from a person and preparation requires the ability to understand the exact situation and position of society.

When I was doing engineering degree, then we (I and my classmates) always talked about space, virtual reality, relative theory type things -topics that commonly we dont talk about. In collge we live in virtual world, with lots of dreams...

But, coming to another world (preparing for civil services) brings you to the ground realities. There are a lot of people who are dying of hunger, and millions are not getting their daily basics needs fulfilled. These are the people that are my inspiration and I have to work for them.

Even my exam hurdle will not stop me for helping them

Iwill do the best, I can, for them.

After coming to this world, the cyber world, I realised how eager people are to share their thoughts and hoe they are spending lots of time blogging. Are they really sharing their thoughts or do they just want to interact with real people and tell how they feel.

Are we not moving from a real world to an imaginary one??
Or
Do we not have the courage to tell our feelings in the real world??

Are we really giving time to our the people around us or are we only thinking about the global world??

Is it not better to share your feeling,stories andthoughts with the near ones and live in the real world.

my first blog

Once, a long time back, I was a net freak, but because of some reasons I am not able to come into this world that much now.

But, at last, after a gap of almost five years, I am back. One of my close friends suggested that I should start a blog of my own because that seems to be the new fad in the cyber world.

Writing has always been a very difficult task for me . So, you all can imagine my situation.

I think keeping a blog might help me improve that skill.

I need support from all possible quarters so that I can start and kepp going at what I have started.
